In September 2012 we signed a contract for an extensive remodel of our home located in Cameron Park CA with George Wolf and his Intuitive Builders (Contractor license 657904). The contract includes the clause, “Contractor shall execute to an instrument to Owner warranting the project for 10 years against defects in worksmanship or materials utilized”.
In July 2013 as part of this remodel new bamboo flooring was in installed. George Wolf determined the source of the flooring and the workers who did the install.
Over time the floor developed cupping which made the floor very uneven. A area with spots caused by moisture coming up from the foundation also developed.
We contacted him in March 2018 about the problems. He did not take any action until being given a demand letter in August 2018. Kings Inspection Services (a certified flooring inspector) completed an inspection on September 11, 2018. The conclusion of the inspection was, “There were no manufacturing related issues with this installed product and the related issues are installation related”.
George Wolf will accept no responsibility for his faulty installation. After many months of discussion he says will not take any action to replace the flooring. The cost of replacement will be $20,000 – 30,000.
