Do not…I repeat: DO NOT…use J&F Hardscapes!!! DO NOT pay anything up front! One RED FLAG: Their “address” states “1435 major St., Elgin, IL 60123”, but no such address exists, and the map pin with this address is somewhere in Will County. Good luck trying to find them! While their pictures are impressive, their work is far from it: Improper forming, improper grading, improper finishing, damage to home and garage during work (broken window, loosened and bent aluminum siding); I could go on and on. I met with Joe, the owner, who repeatedly said, “We’ll fix it” – and I never heard from him again. They never returned to the job to remove forms and left large chunks of extra concrete for me to dispose of. I am MOST DISAPPOINTED and am now stuck with a far inferior job.

Never completed work. Never showed up when promised. Would not return calls. Poured concrete without approval from Village. Had to hire another Contractor to complete job and Village sought a refund for me from the Bond. Turned out the Bond they gave to the Village was altered for another Town.

I agree with previous reviews of this company. DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT have them do a job for you. They did our front walkway and stoop at front door. In 9 months, 2 large areas of the stoop sunk down 3 inches. After you call them and explain they say they will call back. They never call back & now they have your PH#. When you call again, they never pick up the phone. When you call from another phone, this whole scenario goes on again.
