James Blackmore Construction is a disgrace. For two weeks they have been replacing a rooftop next door to my house. The Chicago noise ordinance requires that construction with power tools cease at 8:00 PM within 600 feet of residential buildings. They have been working on a residential building surrounded by residential buildings and for two weeks they have regularly worked until 9:00 PM or later with a nail gun and power saw making an incredible amount of noise. When confronted after 8:00 PM on numerous occasions, James Blackmore was rude, threw insults in my face, and refused to stop working with power tools, insisting on disrupting the entire neighborhood and blatantly violating the Chicago noise ordinance. Why on earth you would hire such a despicable human being with complete disregard for city law and no consideration for anyone but himself is beyond me. There are hundreds of contractors in this city. Don’t waste your time with this one.
