LEB Construction was a godsend after my bathroom’s tiling went awry with a previous contractor. They had charged what I now know was a ludicrous amount of money for an asymmetrical finish set off from the adjacent wall.
Although this whole job took longer than I had initially expected it to take, Arek was able to recover the same tiles and set them properly, which saved me a pretty penny. Watching the team work was reassuring as they worked optimally and with tile leveling pliers.
There was no bit of dilly-dallying from the workers and there was no corner cutting from Arek. Praise aside, the other review on this site had me worried and even after a trustworthy recommendation, I was hoping for some sort of a price deal, but it seems I was mistaken. Arek was courteous and provided me with receipts for the cleaning supplies and tile pliers. He explained the hiccup in leveling the tiles with the wall and took care of it for a price that worked for both of us. As far as contract jobs go, it was a pleasant experience.

I worked with Arek from LEB Construction for my full townhouse renovation in Park Slope. Things started off well with great communication and speed but all slowly deteriorated. He was quite temperamental and difficult to give feedback to. The amount of cancellations due to the “emergencies” he had was overwhelming and frustrating. The number of times he was disrespectful were plenty. The project completion date was delayed by months. When I moved in, the house was still not ready. He addressed some of the issues but after weeks, I still had messed up electricity, no heating upstairs, leak in the kitchen, collapsed shelving, caulking coming apart, paint spills all over, loose plumbing connections and stair issues. A hot mess. Worst of all is that he said he was doing me a “favor” by addressing these issues.
Arek included material purchases in his invoices but refused to show receipts with excuses each time and got overly defensive when asked. To this day, I haven’t seen a single proof of purchase. I had to be OK with this to be able to move forward towards the move-in date and avoid a hostile situation.
Turns out the stair material I approved and paid for (based on the price of the item and his estimated consumption, there was no receipt present) was replaced by a different material that is ½ the price. He failed to provide the whereabouts of the stair material I fully paid for, for months, and I only got to see it after installation. Shocked to see that the stair material was something totally different. He even told me he was getting “on edge” when asked for an explanation and the receipt. Clearly he had something to hide. On top of that, he left the stairs unstained. He refused to fix staining, share the receipt, refund the difference in price or acknowledge any wrongdoing.
Now I need to hire another contractor to clean up his mess. I would strongly advise against working with this contractor. It has been a true nightmare which is finally over.

Flooding due to faulty pump left my basement completely damaged, flooring was unrecoverable. Arek worked with me to put together an affordable plan, and after a few revisions, the tiling work began and went smoothly. Arek gave me a great plumbing connection to replace the pump. Get a backup pump people!! You will not regret it!!! Tiling looks just as it did pre-flood. Thank you LEB Construction!
