I worked with Matt Seidel on the gut renovation of the ground floor apartment at 918 Lorimer. It was quite complicated in that it involved relocating the basement staircase, reconfiguring the footprint.of the ground floor and of the back yard drainage. I am very pleased with the outcome. Matt was a pleasure to work with, and also worked very cooperatively with the landscape designer on the hardscaping in the back yard.

They did not work for me personally, but as president of the co-op I had interaction with them. I found the group professional and the quality of their work very high. The project did drag on long past the scheduled completion date; some of that was due to the fact that the original contractor pulled out of the project before the work started, but some was due to a lack of strict oversight of that contractor.

My own opinion of Mabbott Studios is very favorable, and Chaitan concurs. David and his business partner Matt were both very professional and knowledgeable, and the apartment turned out beautifully. We went over the original budget and schedule by quite a bit, but this was in large part because we ran into a structural issue partway through the project, and obtaining permits was a complicated process.
