    bathroom remodel
    $8,000
    3 days

Similar to the former, he stood up my neighbor several times who I recommended him to. But the clincher is this: back in 2007 Marcelo installed a jacuzzi bathtub for me, this was in an 1887 home. It was my first house, and I was a single mother living on a teacher's salary at the time. He renovated this bathroom for about 8K. Eleven or so years later, the motor on the jacuzzi went. We had to open it up to fix it, and low and behold: the answer to why it beveled in several places and felt like you were stepping on sand inside the tub - he never cemented it in place; rather, it was crudely shimmed at 4 corners. As my 1887 house shifted, the floor moved and thus the shims - and hence, the jacuzzi floor cracked and is now ready to begin leaking. I need to rip it out entirely, buy a new jacuzzi, and reinstall it. Probably another 8K. I was told that industry standard requires cementing the bottom into the floor - this wasn't even close to that. I can't even take a shower in the tub because the cracks will leak at any time - this told to me by two separate Jacuzzi experts (who will testify for me in Small Claims court after I sue this guy!).

    Several things over the years
    $20,000

In the beginning everything was fine. He and his crew did good work and there were no problems. We even recommended this company to others. Then, one day we decided we needed extra closet space. We discussed in detail what we wanted and he gave us a quote, but said he had some other work to finish for other clients first. No problem. After a couple of months we hadn't heard from him,so we called. No response. We called, left messages several times,no response. We thought maybe he had left the area, but other people would say they saw him. Finally we gave up. We have nomidea why he wouldn't return our calls, especially since we had been good clients. Very unprofessional and bizarre behavior.
