- Building permit records show that Metropolitan Builders of has worked on 59 permitted projects.
The design firm we contracted has been managing the project so I don't really have first-hand experience working with Metropolitan.
However, their structural steel drawings did not provide enough clearance from the existing AC dunnage, which the filed DOB plans correctly represented. Presumably, Metropolitan had these plans for reference and did not factor in the necessary constraint or something got lost in translation since the roof designer who who created and filed the DOB plans also did not notice this oversight.
It's been a long and frustrating process so I can't recommend either contractor in good conscience, as friendly, responsive and capable as they otherwise seem to be.
