    I would never use this contractor ever again! Don't be fooled by Gil the SALESMAN. All he does is get the job and get paid a commission by the pool contractor. He originally claimed to be the Owner so he can negotiate the price. However, we discovered once the project started that he is just a SALESMAN. He gets his share of the $$ once the contract is signed then he disappeared. He made a lot of promises but none were delivered.

    Contractor will blame him for not including things in the contract and will want extra for everything. Only showed up to collect $$ and leave everything else to his workers to do. They will only do the bare minimum to meet what is the contract. They started the pool 9 months ago and still have not gotten final inspection.

    So my wife and I finally decided last year to get our pool done and wanted it done by the summer of this year. As you can imagine the process was a nightmare and we almost did not Move forward building anything considering all the headaches we had with different contractors in the bidding process. My wife who happen to have been talking to somebody at a grocery store had mentioned she had just had her pool built and offered the information to my wife. So we called Santillan Pools and had set up a meeting with their general manager and designer. These two gentlemen came over on time and even had called prior to showing up which was like a ray of sunlight after all the nightmares we had with the other contractors not showing up and rescheduling. We went through about a two hour consultation where the designer drew on the spot some ideas in short we were pretty much sold on the way this company operated. We finally went through all the design process signed the contract and begin promptly on our project. There were a few bumps and unforeseen issues that had arrived but Santillan Pools was there to address them and keep us happy. If there's one thing I would say to anybody looking to do a pool is to make sure you may want to add all the not included items at the beginning as to not slow your project down. There were certain things that we did not want to have in the project just to keep cost down but we found ourselves ultimately wanting to add them anyways which just added to the time of the project because of material orders that were backed up etc. If anybody asks me if I know a good pool builder and they do I will immediately say Santillan Pools is the way to go.

    Miguel and his team designed and built our yard and we could not be happier. The salesman and design team worked with my wife and I in detail to get us exactly what we wanted. The only thing I can say is that of all the construction companies we have dealt with in the past this company is at the top of the list with working with us at every turn. We had several changes throughout the project some unforeseen and some that we requested but no matter what happened as so often does in construction Miguel was there to rectify the situation and make sure we were happy. We added a few of the not included items in our contract which we were against doing at first which did bring the price up but that was expected. My only thing is I would have included all the items on the initial contract at the beginning as to not have slowed down the progress with our add ons we wanted. In short if anybody is out there looking to do a project Miguel's team would be recommended by me without fail.

    Miguel built a pool for me in Ramona, He got all of the money up front for each part of the job. I have not been happy since he started digging. there has been a problem with each step. Everything is extra," That was not included" is his best line. He seems like a likable guy that is how I got XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXered. Now he tells me He has 3 months to fix any problems. He didn't finish the pool yet. The expensive. pool sweep just lays there. the Expensive remote looks like a 10 dollar thermostat and does not work. the expensive lights don't change colors so you should be happy with a blue pool and a white water fall. water is running out of the waterfall basin on one end because it is not level by 6 inches.
