Mr Conde and NGL Contracting were recommended to me by a close relative. I googled the name and came upon these two negative reviews above. At first I was hesitant but then I called Mr Conde and asked him about the reviews. He explained it was the wife of a disgruntled failing business. I understood because of the negative verbiage used seemed very emotional and felt tacky when I read Review. It’s a shame anyone can write something about anyone. Mr Conde gave me 4 references of jobs he completed. All 4 gave fantastic reviews with one saying her Pilates Studio was done on schedule and on budget. I’ve hired him to build my dance studio for me and he and his crew, Arie especially have been nothing but professional. I also will highly recommend NGL Contracting and Mr Conde. Thank you sir.

Stay Away from Mike Conde. He was very aggressive on getting a chance on bidding on our home addition. Even after we told him that we already had a contractor he said, just let me come by and see it. When he came, he brought another subcontractor with him, who later told me that Mike begged him to come so he looked like he had a team even after the subcontractor told him he would build the house with him because he is known for not paying subcontractors.
When he arrived he said, “I’ll build the house for you for the same price as your other contractor but I will add a huge balcony on your master bedroom for no extra charge.” He was very persistent on coming back after that meeting and came back shortly after to discuss winning the bid. I said I’ll more than likely choose him when I’m ready. He then said, “I didn’t come here to walk away with out a check,” and demanded over $50,000. I said I’m not ready to give a money deposit yet as we haven’t even tried to get the loan for the remodel. He said, “what can you give me?” I repeated that I wasn’t ready to give any money and he was starting to get aggravated. Keep in mind that he is about 400 lbs. and not somebody you want to fight with. I ended up writing him a $20,000 check for house deposit on the condition that he didn’t spend any of it except on any architect drawing fees. He said, “Ok Buddy.”
After 3 weeks, we got wind that another job he was doing was going horrendous, the worst possible nightmare you could imagine from a contractor and I called him up and said I wasn’t going to be using him for the remodel and to please refund me the money. He said very quickly, “I already spent it.” I reminded him that our agreement was that he was not to spend it except on the minor first round of architect costs for initial drawing. He said, “well the fees were around $15,000.” I immediately got off the phone with him and called the architect. The architect said he hasn’t even given Mike a bill yet and I asked how much for the work he performed. He said “$4,100.” I called Mike back and let him know that I spoke to the architect and caught him in the lie. He then said “well my time isn’t free to come to your house and bid on the job.” I was shocked, this fake contractor just stole $20,000 from me. I have been spending months trying to recover my money from him. At one point he said he would give back $15,000. However, he never did. This guy is a criminal and stay away. He just wants to get deposit money and he will end up not building for you. He should not have a contacting license and is a modern-day con man.
Be warned, you will be in for a nightmare if you use Mike Conde for any type of construction! -
