Permits
- Building permit records show that Nova AGS Hotel Renovation and Construction Inc has worked on 18 permitted projects.
The contractor made many promises on his proposal, but failed to include them in the final contract. When requested to make the corrections, he made verbal promises that he later refused to honor.
1. The roofing material was specified and confirmed prior to construction, but he decided to charge us extra after he had removed half of our roof. It was raining season, so we had no choice but to comply with his demands.
2. We were asked to select our own carpet installer and would credit us later, but he later claim that those rooms were never included, even thou we had confirmed with him before we went to look for our own installer.
3. Wood floor that he tried to fix 4 times and is still warped with creeks everywhere. We told him about the possibility of uneven and squeaky floor even before he started laying the new one, but he just ignored us.
4. Charging us extra for cement work that he had agreed to in the beginning.
5. There were no change orders or quotes given for many more things we thought were included, but decided to charge us at the end.
6. Mr. Lim promised that we could live in one half of the house while he works on the addition, then vice versa. We were asked to leave for 2-3 weeks for electrical and plumbing hook-up, but they made a mess of everything and refused to hookup the water heater without us paying extra. Basically, we were forced to live out for the remaining 6 month until construction is done.
7. Paint were uneven, with patches and visible screws/bolts, and even walls filled with hair from rollers.
To make a long story short, it was a very unsatisfying experience working with Sunway Builder. He doesn't supervise his workers and does a lousy job of fixing their mistakes. Lastly, just want to warn anyone who is thinking doing any job to beware of contractors like this and don't rush anything.
