I hired Matthew Thouin, one of the partners to do a concrete job at our home. Not only did he not fulfill the contract. When a bigger contract came along, he left the job unfinished and poorly completed after having been cited by the building code inspector for two violations. The entire job has to be excavated and repoured due not only to poor workmanship but to safety violations. For example, the sidewalk is 2" above the driveway. Matthew actually told my husband and myself that "what we were told we would be getting by the appraiser would not be what we would be receiving" and said it so matter of factly he didn't even seem to realize how wrong that was to admit. Many of the work crew at our home were from the Pioneer Valley Construction LLC crew, wearing the t-shirts from the same. Matthew actually had to have his crew pour the concrete for our job 4 times!!! and it is still not correct, if you can believe it. He claims to be HIC but the scope of his knowledge would bring that into question. He may have been able to pass an exam, however he does not have the knowledge and/or the experience to warrant that title after his name.
