Shawn is very smart and personable. We really were excited to hire him. Unfortunately, a three week job turned into a three month job with him being unable to do many of the things needed. His attitude became surly, and he began refusing to complete portions of the job that we had agreed to in a signed contract. He told us he felt personally attacked when we criticized or were unsatisfied with the way a specific aspect of the job had been done. He refused to finish the work without being paid before it was complete, which violated the way our contract was written. I think Shawn means well and is a nice person, but as a contractor he agreed to do jobs that he later found out he was unable to properly complete. He bit off more than he could chew, and unfortunately instead of trying to make it right with the client, he walked away and stopped communicating, leaving us hanging. I am disappointed, and I think as Shawn gets more experience this kind of issue will hopefully happen less and less for him.
