We hired Regius Construction LLC in June 2025 for an exterior pool project and paid an advance of $30,500. The agreement identified an “official subcontractor” for key parts of the work.
After signing, several issues arose that caused concern. Based on our own checks of Florida DBPR records, it appeared the named subcontractor did not hold the specific license required for pool work. We requested written confirmation of all applicable licenses. As of today, we have not received documentation that resolves those concerns.
We requested a refund. The matter remains unresolved, and we are pursuing formal remedies to recover our funds. We’re sharing this to encourage other consumers to verify subcontractor licenses directly with Florida DBPR and obtain license numbers in writing. We also suggest waiting to pay deposits until permits are filed and work has begun.
If Regius provides satisfactory proof of proper subcontractor licensure and resolves the refund, we will update this review to reflect the outcome.
