We would not recommend this builder to anyone. We hired GM Roberts Design for a large remodel and were extremely unsatisfied with nearly everything about the experience. Gary is great at selling a job but in the end, cannot deliver on his promises. This company has no reliable workforce and any employees that do enter the mix are found on craigslist with no background checks and do not last long on the job. It is quite unsettling to say the least. The job is approached in a very disorganized manner with several areas being started and left unfinished for sometimes months while they move on to other parts of the project. It became obvious toward the end that this was a tactic Gary used to have a reason to ask for the next phase of money, always giving an excuse as to why this jump was necessary at that moment. He is terrible at communication and sometimes does not show up for several days in a row with no contact, causing the already slow progress to come to a grind. The only way you will be able to get in touch with him is if he happens to answer the phone as he has no available voicemail, email or any other method of modern communication. We later realized that he was secretly working on other jobs at the same time as ours, even though he expressed several times that he only works on one thing at a time. We caught him in many lies. Every outside contractor that worked on the job gave us negative feedback about the workmanship/design, slow progress or horrible communication. Even the contractors that he brought in had negative things to say. In short, save yourself the extreme frustration and go with a more professional group.
