I wish I could review Schiller Development 0 stars. Jareck has zero communication with buyers and does not reply to texts or phone calls at all, and when you do speak to him he is nothing but rude. I purchased a home over 3 months ago from this developer, and we have yet to have our punch list finished up and are now being told by the developers attorney that they refuse to finish the work they are contractually obligated to complete. This developer is a complete liar and does not follow through on their contractual obligations. I would run far way from any home/apartment/condo that is built by Jareck and Schiller Development. All you will deal with is stress, frustration and disappointment and it is not worth it. There are many other developers out there that make a much better product and are good people to work with and deal with and actually follow through on their contractual obligations unlike Jareck and Schiller Development. Save yourself the trouble, and purchase from a more reputable developer!

Schiller has been awful to work with. If I could give them 0 stars I would.
I recently purchased a new construction home from them, and their product was less than stellar. A lot of dings/dents/damages prior to moving in. It's like buying a new car with a dent in the hood. Would you ever pay full price for that without it being fixed? Well, they promised to fix everything, and have not done so.
Furthermore, they have been unresponsive, unprofessional, over promising, and do not complete work they are contractually responsible for.

Purchasing a home built by Schiller Development and its owner Jaroslaw (“Jarek”) Pietrzyk was the most regrettable decision of our lives. It's taken 18 months to get our "brand new" property into stable condition, tens of thousands of dollars, and countless hours of our time. In our three unit condo, our duplex down had the worst problems. This is just a small fraction of the trouble we’ve had in dealing with S.D., Jarek Pietrzyk, and the shoddy workmanship which went into our brand new home.
Know this going into any real estate transaction with Schiller Development— you should expect any agreed upon "Punch List" list items to not be honored; no item on our list, big or small, was addressed. Yes, even as the Punch List was formally included in the legal closing documents, it was not be honored. Of course, our experienced Home Inspectors should have caught some of these potential issues, but too many of them were hidden within walls, under cement sealed pits, under deck boards, etc.
No pleas for help were actually addressed. Water leaking into our living room through the wall following freezing rain? Water backing up onto our floor in several different rooms three weeks after we moved in? We were told it's nothing and only after the third desperate call was someone sent over to “check out the problem.” That person was the owner of Schiller Development, Jarek. He didn’t actually inspect any of the water issues we were having; he just told us that whatever was happening could only be our fault, before he abruptly left, literally never to return. Our sewer lines backed up into our home a few months after we moved in. We received no response, at all, to panicked voice messages, text messages, and emails, all of which were sent in-between frantically trying to stop the problem, source emergency plumbing assistance, and clean up the horrifying mess. Regardless of any reasonable, organized, professional approach we took with S.D., we never received the same in return.
The very few times we did manage to convince them (after months of calls, emails, and texts) to send someone to address electrical/plumbing/HVAC/etc. concerns, it was still a miserable experience. No names, phone numbers, business cards, no arrival windows—just an unmarked van pulling up, unannounced. They never asked what the issue was or answered our questions; simply an "it's fixed," thrown our way 20 mins later as they walked out the door.
The power company threatened to shut off power as S.D. didn't install proper safety barrier to live wires. S.D. left construction debris 4 months after Close, refusing to address. Cracking pavement, rusting stairwells, peeling paint, missing roof vents and mold, etc. started to appear within 6 months.
Despite the utter non-responsiveness and deafening silence we came to expect from S.D. and their attorney, the owner of Schiller Development still felt entitled to access our property whenever it would benefit him. One terrifying instance 5 months after move-in, we came home in the early afternoon and came face-to-face with a man at our back door trying to get into our home. He had hopped the locked gate and came around back. Thank goodness we had changed our locks—he said that Jarek had left behind floor tiles and demanded that we hand them over. Despite repeated requests that he leave our property, he only did so after we threatened to call the police. This incident was during a period in which S.D. and their lawyer had ceased all communications with us and our neighbors.
All three units began pooling our resources after the last unit Closed, as we were now all getting ghosted by S.D. and attorney while they ran down the 12-month warranty clock. As an HOA, we began sending certified letters detailing our warranty claims to S.D. and their lawyer. Only after the third letter, prepared by our attorney and very strongly worded, did we get a proper response and see some (not all) of the Common Area issues addressed.
In conclusion, any success we’ve had in getting Schiller Development to address the myriad issues with our home are a direct result of our personal determination, considerable investment, and untold hours of our time. If you purchase a home from Schiller Development, you should be prepared for a similar experience to the one described here and be willing to spend hundreds of hours trying to figure out why systems in your new home appear not to be functioning. You should expect to spend tens of thousands of dollars fixing brand new construction, even if it is definitely covered by your warranty. And you should certainly presume that you are entering into an agreement with a small business whose owner is unprincipled, dismissive, and uncommunicative, and that your new home, while superficially beautiful, is rotten at its core: sloppily built, with corners cut whenever possible and substandard workmanship throughout.
