Terrible job. We were constantly telling the Supervisor, Matt McGinnis that they were not doing the job correctly or using the proper materials and he agreed to correct it but never did. Everything they did was poor quality and workmanship. The cabinets were not only NOT real wood or custom fit, as we had ordered, they were prefabricated laminated press-board that we complained about from day one. They installed them anyway and we lost half our cupboard space. They drilled dozens of extra holes in the new cabinets instead of finding the studs, the screws stick out of the cabinets because they are too long and their fix to this was to cover them with puddy. The counter tops were too tall at 38 inches and the back-splashes were several inches taller then before. ServPro was told BEFORE they installed them that they would interfere with the outlets and they needed to make shorter back-splash or move the outlets up the wall. Instead, ServPro ignored what we said and marked the outlet covers to cut them off rather then do the job correctly. The new door frames did not fit properly and were not even lined up correctly and looked terrible. Everything they did wrong they tried to cover with puddy. They were also installed visibly crooked on the walls and were not level! The finish work was a joke and not preformed by a professional finisher. The flooring was not professionally installed, was pulling apart and the gaps along the walls was so wide the molding would not cover them. They replaced all our door frames and not one of them fit so they filled in the gaps with puddy. They broke the marble flooring and only replaced the one whole piece and filled the broken corner piece with caulk. The toilet leaked. The one thing they changed was the oversized cabinet in the bathroom that was NOT to code, so they did not even follow building codes! The new flooring was installed going the wrong direction and was pulling apart everywhere. The gaps along the walls were so wide they could not be covered with the molding so they stuffed them full of puddy. After they quit and we noticed the moisture under the flooring we started to remove the flooring and found nails, screws and dirt under the brand new flooring that they had never even swept before laying the new flooring! They had also claimed they had dried up all the water from their flood but that was also a lie and there was mold under the new flooring and likely still in the walls, we are still tearing things out. They replaced 18 and 25 inch shelves with 12 inch shelves, which was not acceptable! They removed brand new, white outlet covers one white walls and replaced them with 3 different beige colored ones, for no reason! They shut the water off to the hot water heater but not the power and burnt it up. Literally EVERYTHING they did had to be torn out and redone! We put pictures up on FB so people could see that this is not an exaggeration it is absolutely what a terrible job they did. They flooded the apartment a second time and refused to remove the new flooring which was obviously damaged and still had moisture under it. The license holder needs to be more careful with who he allows to preform work under his name and ccb# because his son Mathew (Matt) McGinnis did a horrific job. Matt McGinnis walked off the job, just quit without notifying us at all right after we brought the insurance company in to see the terrible job they were doing and the insurance company agreed that we were not going to pay for such cheap, terrible work that was obviously done by an amateur. ServPro offered to give us ALL our money back but NOT to pay for all the damages they caused, including the tools that were ruined and rusty that we found weeks after they drilled a hole in a pipe and flooded the unit a second time, which in turn flooded the shop below. They had left buckets and toolboxes of standing water with tools and security cameras etc and ruined them all! They had never bothered to clean up the water in the shop below at all, let alone the cost to remove their flooring and cabinets etc. We are working with the CCB and plan to file against them in court after we file with their insurance company, which they refused to file or provide us with the information to file a claim against their flood damage. ServPro Benton County and Linn County is also doing business as McGinnis Restoration and Construction. For hundreds of pictures and explanations of the terrible job they did see the FB page: Review of ServPro aka McGinnis Restoration & Construction Oregon.

I hired these guys with out checking them out, my big mistake!
They did a good job of disaster clean up but very poor at doing actual construction/repair work. I would recommend you hire a real building contractor for residential construction. These guys are very, very slow and do not pay attention to detail at all.

This company is also known as McGinnis Disaster Restoration and Construction. After they missed repeated deadlines to complete our job we discovered that they were working under several different names and at least six different job sites with only one licensed contractor between them, and the licensed contractor never once visited our job site that they were at for several months. They flooded our apartment while doing the remodel and caused more damages!! They Never completed the water cleanup in the basement and ruined expensive equipment and tools. They were nit preforming the job as contracted, using junk materials, installing items that were not made of real wood but pressboard. Their cuts were horrible so they were putting puddy on everything to fill cracks and gaps. They missed multiple deadlines and walked off the job without telling us they had quit!! So unprofessional! They never completed the job and caused more damages while they were there, including kicking in the front door when they forgot their key because they did not want to drive back to the office, then then worked for weeks and never replaced the broken front door frame they ruined. They did not even know enough to follow required building codes and attempted to install a new bathroom cabinet leaving less than 2 inches between the cabinet and the toilet, anyone other than a toddler would not have been able to use the toilet! There was so much incompetence that we simply cannot list it all. Serval of the workers could not understand English at all and the supervisor was not always on the worksite. The supervisor installed “homemade“ six inch tall baseboards that looked like crap But when we told him that he continued to install it in 2 more rooms, instead of stopping and removing it like the owner told them to. I simply cannot say enough bad about this company and would absolutely, positively, never recommend them to anyone! Matt McGinnis supervised our job and he was horrible and frankly incompetent. Needless to say, the job is not complete, they never even began to address the flood damage in basement that they personally caused, and when they walked off the job they offered to “return our down payment and ended the relationship“. That was ridiculous, the down payment was not half of the damages they caused, we had to repaint the entire 2 bedroom unit, remove all their cheap cabinets, replace all the cheap and poorly installed molding and putty, replace the flooring, replaced the front door frame they kicked in, the list just goes on and on not to mention several months of lost rent because I walked off the job and didn’t tell us that they had quit !
Would NOT recommend. We do recommend you contact the Oregon state contractors board and file a complaint against them so that they stop performing substandard work !
Read some of the other reviews, most of the five star reviews they received are from employees or people claiming to be their “competition“. Ridiculous them to believe that these are anything but false reviews .
