Gross negligence concerning our home. After work ceased for a while waiting to hear from the bank, Sizm places a covering on the top of a half-worked roof with spaces and holes. The covers blow off. The winter comes in and I have snow and rain coming into the house. The sub-floor is drenched. I called several times to ask if he would come to cover the area again . He never did. The flooding is abominable. Mold everywhere. I found that the work done was not up to code. What a disappointment. Money spent for inferior work. All done must be torn up and redone. How sad. We trusted this company and we were taken.

If I were able to, I would give SixM negative stars. This company is the worst I have ever worked with. We were remodeling two bathrooms. He gave us a time and budget estimate, neither of which he kept to. We were told it would be about 6-8 weeks to do both bathrooms. In the end it took him over a year. The owner lied to us, saying that he had worked many times with the subcontractors he was using, when in reality he had not worked with them at all. He would work for a day or so, and then it would take weeks for him to come back to the house. He was never around to be supervising the subcontractors. Because of this, the tile company he hired did such terrible work that it all had to be ripped out down to the studs and redone properly. The tiled walls were so bad there was not one 90* corner, the top of the tiled walls came out 3/4” further than at the bottom. I used a beveled subway tile, but you couldn’t tell it was beveled because they put so much grout in, it covered the bevel. They ran out of the grout with about a 3’ section of wall left, instead of getting more, or asking me to go get more, they used what they had left over in their truck from a prior job. It was not even close to the same color. Our shower glass guy said he couldn’t install the glass because it wouldn’t lay flush with the tile walls. The bench in the shower was purposely built with a slight angle so the water would run off, but it would up being tilted in the opposite direction leaving the water to pool at the back of the bench.
Once we had everything ripped out again, he brought in a friend of his who used to tile for a living. I had no problems with him, he did beautiful work. The job that the original tile guys did in two days, took him a week and a half to finish properly. I gave the owner a detailed layout for the placement of the lights, switches and outlets. He did not follow it. If I want to turn the light on above the vanity mirror, I have to go BEHIND the mirror to do so. There was adequate space for it to have been located with the other switches.
He used a cabinet maker he said he’d used before, but hadn’t. The cabinet guy was terrible and extremely expensive. He didn’t follow the plans for what I wanted and then did shoddy fixes to try and remedy the issues. It’s only been three years, but the cabinets look awful. They have chips/scratches in the finish and there are gaps at a lot of the joints. He also tried to tell me that he had not heard of or could find the reeded glass for the doors. It took him almost two months to get it.
The downstairs bathroom has a large freestanding tub which he did not install correctly. I filled it to take a bath and the water was leaking out from underneath it. He damaged our vanity by trying to make the drawers fit by shoving them in. When that didn’t work, because he measured incorrectly, he removed the handles from the hot and cold water lines going to the faucet. Instead of going to get the proper size water hose to go from the floor to the toilet, he used the short one he had, and left 3” of blue pex line coming up through the floor.
I showed him many photos of the wood wainscoting I wanted done for the lower half of the walls. He said that woodworking was his specialty and it would be no problem. The work he did is terrible. There are rough edges, dents in the wood and nail holes that he didn’t bother to address. After about 3 months, gaps began forming at every joint and where it met with the wall. Since then, the gaps have gotten much bigger and the top ledge is pulling away from the wall. There is 1/4” of space between every piece. And I am not exaggerating when I say every piece. It’s all of them. Instead of doing a proper job, he filled the spaces with gaps with regular white caulk and painted over it.
We had to have a second plumber come in and fix all of the things we were left with.
If all of this isn’t bad enough, he charges outrageous amounts for any “extras”. He wanted to charge us $1000 to fabricate a u shaped piece of metal to use as a bracket for the free standing faucet. It was no bigger than 10” wide.
I truly hope that anyone who is looking for a contractor takes my advice and runs away from this guy.
As a side note, he only has one review on his LinkedIn page, and it’s his girlfriend.
