Mike Rutigliano, the owner of Stephen Thorpe Inc. Plumbing and Heating took our deposit of $1,500 on 10/10/14 and has not done any work. He was hired to service our heating system. After endless excuses why he couldn't come do the work, we asked for our deposit back. Its been 3 months now, and he has another laundry list of excuses why he can't come to give us our deposit back. Some excuses were: He's sick, wife is sick, in hospital, IRS has hold on account, check cleared will be over tomorrow. Then the next day he would not show up. I would call again and he would have another excuse. Everyday, another excuse. I offered to go to him and meet him at the bank or anywhere else, since it seemed he always had an excuse why he couldn't get to me. I offered to accept installment payments from him, but he declined and kept telling me that he "will take care of it tomorrow, promise". This man and his company can not be trusted! I later found various similar complaints about him online on websites such as YELP and RIPOFF REPORT. He's done this to other people before! His business is still taking calls through a call answering center. Mike and his busness needs to be stopped and money needs to be returned to the hardworking people who trusted him. The addresses he has listed are also fake! He doen't even deserve the one star rating.
