The Sunesta retractable awning was improperly and shoddily installed by Sunesta of Pittsburgh. It suddenly pulled away from my home and could have caused serious injury to anyone under it at the time. I contacted Sunesta of Pittsburgh but they would not do anything to reinstall it without a hefty fee first being paid upfront. I then contacted a professional installer on my own and was glad I did. While reinstalling he discovered that the awning installed by Sunesta was improperly installed and would have ultimately fallen down. The back of my house is siding and when Sunesta of Pittsburgh installed it they did not attach the bolts to studs behind the siding. Instead they only attached the bolts to particle board behind the siding. Because the awning is big(12'8") and heavy(estimated at between 75 and 100 lbs and requiring at least 2 men to lift it) it would have fallen due to only being attached to fiberboard.
As a result I would recommend that no one buy an awning from Sunesta of Pittsburgh unless they plan on installing it themselves. Although the awning itself is all right, the installation is exceptionally inferior and makes the awning worthless.
