this contractor did not give me a copy of the final estimate until the project was almost finished some 8 months after starting a 3-4 month project. I then discovered i had overpaid him by almost 30k. He has refused to address the issue, refused to fix things that are not right. Basically he has left me high and dry. The project that I paid him for is not completed. However, what was done was beautiful. So it will be difficult to manage him and your project , as when he feels you owe him money, then he will not work. Also after you pay him don't expect his workers to show up...very frustrating. He is a poor manager of time to complete a project and money. Be careful if you have multiple versions of your contract that he doesn't increase multiple line items ( where nothing has changed) which will increase your cost. Items I did not notice until now.
However, the workmanship of his workers is fantastic -- When they work! Weeks went by with no one on the job. Now no response so my only recourse is to complain to the Better Business Bureau, file a complaint with the contractor' board for his license, go after his bond and then take him to court. This man lacks integrity. Be careful!!!
