Not reliable. Make sure he lists every single thing he is quoting to you in a contract, even things that is common sense to be included in the quote.(I.e if he is rock sheet a wall, list if paint is included or not)
We had a horrible experience with Topaz contracting(Del C.), they have no experience with hardwood floor and made a terrible job on our floor so we had to find someone else to fix. He estimated completion in 4 weeks, and he finished at low quality in almost 3 months. We had to have re done most of the work hey did for us.Will never use Topaz (in golden river, CA)again!

Topaz
I hired Del and Topaz contracting based on a recommendation, to find out later that the employee who had such high praise, was not working for the company any longer. I agree with the other reviewer here. Del has a way with words and eases you into thinking he knows what he's doing and that he'll be there every step of the way. On the contrary, the job was signed for and he gradually lost interest in my home, leaving his uncertified employees to do whatever the hell they wanted. We had so many problems along the way, none of them due to our side following through with payment. In some cases, we paid ahead and dealt with numerous delays. We also had a problem where he did not include normal steps that should follow to job completion. For instance, drywalling without paint and trim. Quality of the work performed was subpar, despite Del's assurance of his companies perfection. "You may pay a little more but you'll see it in our details." "You won't have to worry about subcontractors." he said. Such lies. He made us purchase tile and flooring for them to install and he wouldn't touch our granite counter install. All were additional costs to us. So many problems, some of them we had to find out the hard way and others we are still living with. His guy plumbed in a new washer drain and water supply box and he blamed my washer when suds overflowed from the top of the pipe. I had to hold him accountable by showing him pictures I took earlier on in the project, when I was happy with the progress, showing that the drop to the trap was far to short and clearly not done correctly. We asked for a dedicated 20amp outlet outside for yard and power equipment and it pops the breaker with my expensive tv and electronics. He claimed that his guys cross check each other and my tile floor would be level, many tiles have as much as an 1/8" step that easily catches bare feet. After two years from delayed completion (a whole other issue, our project took 3 times as long as promised and not actually finished), our gas main was found leaking from two pipe plugs in the ceiling. I thought I smelled natural gas when going in and out of the attic but it took my Hvac guy to actually prove it with leak detection. Topaz left these plugs loose, one was 2 1/2 turns from being tight. What if.. you know, simple stuff. Things that could kill somebody. After he was gone, I had my exterior walls re-sided and the interior walls Topaz worked on had old rat infested insulation reused and stuffed in the walls with rat feces! Our floor was raised and leveled but low spots formed. We have a crack in our brand new ceiling that spans over 15' and his response was that he could come out and fix it but all ceilings settle and crack, that we should see his house. Not our problem. Topaz was our problem, we told them to come back and fix it and they forgot about us. What a big mistake that we made, choosing Topaz. We were swindled out of our hard earned money. He countlessly tried to persuade us to avoid permits. He claimed that his guys would take care of additional things if we gave them gratuity in the form of gift cards. Really?! Whenever we called him out on poor workmanship and mistakes, he acted incredibly insulted and blew us off. To top it all off, we have to live in our home every day and deal his companies shotty work!
