I would not recommend Triple 8 Construction. He was referred by our architect. He did not honor the contract we signed to do entire renovation on the inside of our house. He only came to pick up payments. He didn't oversee the project. He had workers who stole my husband's tools, cracked our tub, purposely ripped out some of our blown in foam insulation, covered up sockets when putting up sheetrocks. Whenever possible they would take shortcuts, not to NYC Dept of Building code. For example, for wet areas, they try using regular sheetrock instead of a green board (which was in our contract) and putting regular sockets instead of GFIs. They refuse to put the boot in our headers and we provided they bolts and they lied to us and said it was in. We found out later when we worked on our floors. They lied that vapor barriers were installed behind the green board after we made them take the regular sheetrocks off. We removed the green board and saw it wasn't done. My husband is very knowledgeable and pointed out what they weren't supposed to do. They continued to do what they want. None of the workers spoke English. They have the nerve to be upset with me for things they weren't supposed to do. If Tim, Tan Cheung, can buy cheap materials and not follow what's per code to put extra $$ in his pocket, he will. I don't think he intended in getting our job signed off w/ Dept of Buildings. He wanted to milk what he can from us and leave.
