Had a great experience working with this company. This had been one of the few times we have hired a contractor that finished the work on the day promised. We had our kitchen cabinets redone, floors refinished, bathroom shower tiled, our entire home painted, the siding on the outside of our home down, backsplash, new vanities and toilets installed in all bathrooms, flooring installed in the basement, and our deck refinished. Throughout the process the house was kept as clean as possible and that was something we really appreciated as we were able to move our things into certain areas while they started on others. The owner came by quite a few times to make sure we were happy with the work that was being done.

By Larry M.August 10, 2015He hired me for concrete coating installation$3,2002 daysAnthony Simon is a scum bag
Ahhhh yes Anthony Simon, total scumbag and a crook. I helped him out on a small concrete job for some TI work in highland park and he stiffed me. He claimed I submitted a proposal for the work with a different amount on it than what I had invoiced. There was only one proposal submitted reflecting the scope of work we discussed (after he continued to beat me up over the price)
I submitted the invoice and he pay one third of it and tell me he wasn't going to pay anymore
He's a low life scum w/ no skill set of his own
Do not work with or for him. -

I have hired Anthony Simon (when he was AS Painting before he became Trotta specialty construction) for three jobs (painting, wallpapering, and roofing) and now have the experience to say he is the worst contractor I have ever dealth with (and I have worked with many). Granted, it was my bad choice to hire a company that does painting and renovations for a roofing job but . . . Anyway, even on the painting side, he is a miserable person to deal with. Bottom line is that the guy will not take any responsibility for shoddy work and blames it on the homeowner. He had a subcontractor hang some wallpaper for us and he got glue all over the front of the paper which stained it. He claimed that we were seeing shadows and also that it was just water that would dry. Well, it never dried and it isn't shadows. I held back part of the payment and he promised he would send the paper guy back but never did. On the roofing, it leaks. He hasn't returned my calls and when I finally saw him in person, he claims that the warranty is void. Bottom line is the guy is a liar and won't take responsibility for anything that his guys do wrong on the job. This is fine for when nothing goes wrong but not the guy you want to work with when something does. Ultimately, we determined that the leaking roof was his fault and his poor workmanship. The roofing tar paper is supposed to be sealed to any vertical walls adjoining the roof and he had not done that, leaving a gap between roof and wall where any rainwater hitting the wall would leak down below the tar paper.
Anyway, watch of for this guy, a misery to deal with.

Me and my husband bought our first home a little over 4 years ago and used Trotta for our entire renovation for our home. They not only did everything in a timely matter but kept everything clean/neat and were extremely respectful. We ended up using them again a few years later when we re-did our siding and once again couldnt of been more pleased with the process and work! We will be continuing to use them for any future work and will always recommend them for anyone looking for a contractor!
