  Butch Maxey and all the men that work for him are nothing less than the best! When it comes to pricing a job, Butch gave us "the most bang for our buck". We hired Maxey Homes,LLC to build a screened in porch with a fireplace. It's not only beautiful...it's amazing! He gave us an approximate time line and was finished well within that time. We had such a great experience with the porch that we hired Butch and his crew to finish our 1700 square foot basement! It was another great experience! The basement is awesome and we use it ALL the time. Everyone who see's their "handywork" are just amazed. We feel truly blessed to have had such an honorable man work on our home! We're looking forward to working with Maxey Homes,LLC again soon!

  The first thing that upset me when Butch was giving me a price on the project was he wanted to "remove all the mature shrubs from around the home". This he stated would make the job "easier and faster".

  I did not remove my shrubs, they were just trimmed to gain access to the exterior walls.

  Second thing, I asked if they could clean up behind themselves, especially nails because of animals and children we have.

  As they were replacing the siding and painting, I noticed numerous things that made me leary of their work.

  1) they did not caulk on the underside of the windows.
  2) there were nails left everywhere, one of which ended up in my foot thru my shoe, and another in my tractor tire.
  3) they removed our power box and the A/C power boxes with a crow bar and left them hanging. One of the A/C boxes had been shorted out because of loose screws making contact with the fuse.
  4) they did not scrape the paint that got on the windows.
  5) they installed a picture window. There was almost an inch gap between the wall and the window that I was told "they could fill with caulk".
  6) they left power outlets hanging on the exterior wall. They didn't even cut a hole in the siding for replacing them.
  7) some of the new siding that was installed had hammer marks and deep scratches. These pieces were left on the wall and painted.
  8) the siding that was installed on our chimney was left out from under the top cap almost an inch and a half, it was left and painted. They had to return to correct it.
  9) there was a light fixture broken when it was removed and Butch didn't think they did it.
  10) I was told they had to get "special paint" for the vinyl windows, they used the same paint as they put on the house.
  11) they didn't prep the walls or the gutters before painting. When I asked him about it, he had one of the workers wipe the gutters with a rag and bleach.

  Basically, the work was very unprofessional and seemed to have no pride in what they did. I've had work of this nature before and was totally satisfied with the work. I can't say that about this contract. I don't believe Butch is knowledgeable in the construction area and doesn't know or maybe doesn't care how parts of a project should be. They were in such a hurry to finish and get their payment,, there were things left unattended and are still in the same shape they left them. I still have windows to scrape the paint from and caulking to do. I'm still finding nails also.
  I'm sorry I hired them. Everyone who asked me about this company was to pass them by and find someone else.

  If you want a job quick and halfway right,, this is the company for you. If you want work to be professionally completed and performed correctly,, find someone else.
