I would recommend Windmill Remodeling Inc to others. Rich Farmer and his two young helpers, Caleb and Evan did an extensive amount of work updating our kitchen with new kitchen cabinets, Quartz countertops and backsplash in August of 2024. The finished project looked very nice but it wasn't just these updates that we were impressed with. I must say first, I was so impressed with the knowledge that Caleb and Evan, two brothers, had at an early age. They both were in their early 20's and had been with Rich about five years already, right out of high school. These two young guys knew as much about electrical work, plumbing, putting up drywall and installing kitchen cabinets as some construction workers who have been in the business for many years. They learned all of this from Rich over the years. Also very courteous young men.
Some of the other work they did to our kitchen involved tearing apart most of our wall where the new cabinets to be installed would go. They did this to install more electrical sockets, switches and wiring needed for the new kitchen cabinets. In the process they found rusted galvanized vent and drain pipes that had actually rusted so bad at the threads you could shake them with your hand, they were so loose. Even replaced a large vent pipe that went across our kitchen soffit up through our roof because it was also loose and rusted. All of this replaced with PVC that won't rust. They also rerouted the water pipes in the basement that were going into the driveway grease trap from the kitchen sink and laundry area into our sewer line. Something I had been wanting to do for years. Replaced galvanized water pipes going from our new kitchen sink down to the basement with copper piping. Added new insulation to the wall in back of the cabinets while it was tore apart and then put up new drywall on the whole wall.
They also rewired the whole kitchen with new wiring to replace the old cloth type wiring. Relocated our microwave from our counter, to underneath the new kitchen cabinets. Almost forgot Caleb and Evan installed new gray vinyl plank flooring in our kitchen and dining room also.
Very happy with the looks of the Kitchen Cabinets from MK Cabinets in EP, Two Quartz countertops from Olivas Granite in Romeoville and the installed herringbone backsplash and vinyl plank flooring. Mostly happy with all the updates of the plumbing, knowing all the rusted pipes have been replaced and the new wiring in the kitchen. All of this done for what we felt was a very reasonable price after checking out prices from some other contractors and stores.
