Did half the work and then bailed. Took the pre-payment and never did the rest of the work. Didn't show up for small claims court. He lost. Maybe some day his conscience will get the better of him and he'll consider that the money wasn't his and he should pay us back.

Under no circumstances would I recommend this contractor. Hired for a full kitchen remodel, gas fireplace install, etc. He completed half the job and ghosted us while keeping the money. We’ve hired a new contractor and he’s had to fix the things we thought were done correctly. Dishonest, poor work, and breached contract.
