They built two homes for me. The workmanship was great; they are pleasant to deal with, and always make good on their word.

    Build a house

Shoddy, rushed work. The list of problems we had goes on and on:

    - HVAC installed incorrectly (both units).
    - A/C units installed directly on the ground, leading them to tilt
    - Frozen pipes due to lack of insulation (bare pipes exposed in the garage)
    - Constant leaks in plumbing
    - Scratched cabinets after they had been installed incorrectly
    - Refusal to install drains in the driveway leads to flooding and icing in front of the garage
    - Water main installed incorrectly, so we had a leak that damaged the foundation
    - Improperly installed garage doors

It is also important to note that in each of these cases, their first reaction was to blame us or tell us, "It's not a problem." For example, the shower in our master bath was leaking and the plumber said, "It's supposed to do that."

When our dining room ceiling started to flake and show signs of leaks from the upstairs bathroom, we were told that most likely we filled the tub too much and then got into the tub and made it overflow. It turns out there was an improperly installed valve.

They do not stand behind their work. They use the cheapest material unless you overpay ($11 light fixtures in the master bath). Installing a ceiling-fan capable box instead of a standard box was an additional $200 - for a $15 box.

They did come back to fix some of these things, but in most cases, the problems persisted until they'd come back several times. This evidently led to us being "difficult" as they simply stopped responding. We wrote letters, called, and even went to the office in person. They finally scheduled an appointment to come look at issues, but never showed up and never responded. They just ghosted us.

They should just do things right the first time. My impression is that they are trying to build your house as quickly as possible for the least amount of cost to them. This leads to shoddy workmanship and lower quality materials.
